Training

S&T offers training in handgun, rifle, shotgun and submachine gun. A brief outline of the courses follow.  Keep in mind that material covered will be dependant on range facilities, and student abilities.


Handgun:  S&T offers handgun training for everyone from the novice to the experienced shooter. Classes include;
        Handgun Fundamentals
            
    This class is designed for the new shooter or someone who has not taken a structured class before as well as anyone looking for a solid review of the fundamentals of shooting a handgun.  This class is also useful for instructors who are seeking instructor development.  Topics include;
  • Safety brief
  • Fundamentals of shooting
  • Load/Unload/Reload
  • Ready positions
  • Draw
  • Single and multiple target engagements
  • Malfunction clearance drills
  • Shooting on the move

            Handgun I
                
This class is for the seasoned shooter looking to build his skills in defensive shooting.  
        Topics include;

  • Safety brief
  • Brief review of fundaments of shooting
  • Ready positions
  • Reloads
  • Malfunction clearance drills
  • Single and multiple target engagements
  • Failure drills
  • Pivots and turns
  • Shooting on the move to include 360* of movement
  • Cover vs. Concealment
  • Use of cover
  • One handed shooting

            Handgun II
                
Handgun II will include a brief review of the topics covered in Handgun I and then move onto;

  • Safety brief
  • Close quarters shooting
  • One handed manipulations
  • Asymmetric shooting positions
  • Drills that will test the students ability to run the gun at a subconscious level

            

    We also offer Low Light Handgun and Concealed Handgun classes throughout the year.  Check out the schedule for dates.

    

Rifle/Carbine:  S&T carbine classes also cover the gamut from the novice to experienced shooter.

            Carbine Fundamentals
               This class is designed for the new shooter or anyone looking for a solid review of the 
            fundamentals of running the carbine.  Topics include;

  • Safety brief
  • Principals of marksmanship
  • Load/unload
  • Position shooting
  • Zero verification and justification
  • Ballistics
  • Ready positions
  • Single and multiple target engagements
  • Reloading
  • Malfunction clearance

            Carbine I
                This class is for the experienced shooter looking to build on his skills in the defensive use of the
            carbine.  Topics include;

  • Safety brief
  • Brief review of the principals of marksmanship
  • Ready positions
  • Reloads
  • Malfunction clearance drills
  • Single and multiple target engagements
  • Failure drills
  • Shooting on the move to include 360* of movement
  • Pivots and turns
  • Strong and support side shooting
  • Cover Vs. Concealment
  • Use of cover

     We also offer a two day carbine course that includes asymmetric shooting positions and a low light block of instruction.  Check the schedule for dates.

 

Shotgun:   S&T offers a one day shotgun class which includes;
  • Firearms Safety brief
  • Principals of marksmanship
  • Loading/unloading
  • Shotgun ballistics and zeroing discussion
  • Single and multiple target engagement
  • Reloads
  • Pivots and turns
  • Moving and shooting
Submachine Gun:  S&T offers training in submachine gun and fully automatic carbine.  Given the speciality nature of these firearms, course curriculum will be set by S&T and the customer prior to the training date.
